Emmanuel at Sandhills Forest and Nature Early Learning is seeking a dependable and organized Office Assistant who will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our centre. Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls and inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems, both electronic and paper-based.
- Update and maintain children’s allergy information and related health documentation.
- Upload receipts and assist with expense tracking and record keeping.
- Support general office administration and data entry tasks.
- Draft social media posts as assigned
Inventory & Purchasing
- Monitor inventory levels of classroom, office, and facility supplies.
- Order supplies and materials as needed while maintaining budget awareness.
- Receive, organize, and distribute deliveries.
- Maintain inventory records and ensure adequate stock levels are available.
Classroom Support
- Provide classroom coverage during staff breaks, meetings, or other operational needs.
- Assist with maintaining a safe, organized, and supportive learning environment.
- Support staff and children as directed by leadership.
Facilities & Operations Support
- Perform minor building maintenance and upkeep tasks.
- Report maintenance concerns requiring specialized service.
- Assist with room setup, organization, and operational readiness.
- Support overall facility cleanliness, organization, and safety procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
- Minimum one year of experience in office administration, administrative support, childcare, education, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Strong organizational, time management, and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to lift and move supplies and perform light physical duties as required.
- Experience working with children or willingness to work directly with children in a childcare setting.
Preferred
- Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Office Administration, Business Administration, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
- Experience working in a childcare, education, non-profit, or community-based environment.
- Experience managing inventory, ordering supplies, and tracking expenses.

Pay: $23.00-$24.00 per hour
