Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Engineering and Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. This candidate is a high-level professional responsible for accurately forecasting the cost, time, and resources required for engineering and construction projects. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in preparing accurate project estimates, supporting project planning, and ensuring competitive pricing strategies. This position offers an opportunity to lead complex estimation processes, collaborate with project managers, and contribute to the successful execution of large-scale projects. The Senior Engineering and Construction Estimator must possess strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and proficiency with estimation software to deliver precise and comprehensive bids.
Duties
- Develop detailed cost estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to gather pricing information and negotiate terms to secure favorable conditions.
- Prepare comprehensive cost proposals that include labor, materials, equipment, overhead, and profit margins.
- Review project scopes and identify potential risks or discrepancies that could impact costs or timelines.
- Lead the review of design changes and update estimates accordingly to reflect modifications in scope or pricing.
- Support project management teams by providing accurate cost data during project planning and execution phases.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, labor rates, and regulatory requirements affecting construction estimating.
- Assist in developing bid strategies and participate in bid presentations to clients or stakeholders.
Skills
- Extensive experience with construction estimating software/s available in the industry
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Proven ability in project management with a focus on cost control and budget adherence.
- Deep understanding of engineering and construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical skills for evaluating project plans, specifications, and market conditions.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
- Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy in estimates. This role is integral to the success of our projects, requiring a professional who is meticulous, strategic, and proactive in managing all aspects of construction estimation.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical / Instrumentation / Telecommunication Engineering
- 8-15+ years of experience in construction/engineering estimation
- Certification in AACE international can be an advantage.
