Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)/Female Family Physician to join our Female Family Medicine team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive patient care in a clinical setting, supporting women’s health and family medicine needs. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, utilizing a wide range of nursing skills including patient assessments, medication administration, and health education. Prior experience in nursing homes, hospitals, or acute care settings is highly valued. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, medical terminology knowledge, and proficiency with electronic medical records such as Epic and Cerner. This position is essential for delivering high-quality care to diverse patient populations, including seniors, children, and those requiring specialized care such as dementia or hospice.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately using electronic medical records systems like Epic and Cerner
- Administer medications and injections following physician orders and safety protocols
- Assist with procedures such as phlebotomy, laboratory testing, and pain management interventions
- Provide patient education on health conditions, medication use, and wellness strategies
- Support patients with chronic conditions, including dementia, senior care, hospice needs, pediatrics, and home care services
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatments in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Assist with case management activities to coordinate ongoing patient care across different settings
- Ensure infection control standards are upheld within the clinical environment
Qualifications
- Valid registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with current licensure
- Prior experience in nursing home, hospital, or acute care environments preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and laboratory techniques including phlebotomy
- Experience working with diverse patient populations such as seniors, children, or hospice patients is desirable
- Familiarity with electronic health records systems like Epic and Cerner is an asset
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Compassionate approach to patient care with attention to detail and safety standards
