EMPOWER Academy is a therapy-integrated private school and My Empower Early Intervention Program is a leader in neurodevelopmental education. Our educators work alongside Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Behaviour Consultants, and Counsellors to deliver individualized, evidence-based education for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, developmental disabilities, learning differences, and other neurodevelopmental needs.
We are seeking an exceptional, passionate educator who is committed to inclusive education, clinical collaboration, and helping every child achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, BC curriculum-aligned instruction for Kindergarten to Grade 7 students.
- Create a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and support Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary clinical team to maximize student outcomes.
- Assess student progress, complete documentation, and communicate with families.
- Foster communication, emotional regulation, executive functioning, independence, and positive behaviour using evidence-based practices.
- Participate in school events, professional development, and team meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent.
- BC Teacher Certification (or eligibility) preferred.
- Experience teaching elementary-aged children.
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with Autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities, inclusive education, special education, or early intervention is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction, UDL, behaviour support, ABA, or trauma-informed practice is considered an asset.
- Criminal Record Check required.
