Job Summary
Our client located in Ottawa and works within the scaffolding industry is hiring for a DZ Moffat Truck Operator.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and the ability to perform basic automotive repairs as needed.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial truck to transport goods to various locations.
- Load and unload freight using Moffat forklift.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours worked and mileage driven.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transport.
- Perform minor automotive repairs and maintenance on the truck as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
- When deliveries are slower the candidate will be helping with labor duties in the yard.
Qualifications
- Valid DZ license.
- Valid Forklift license.
- Experience in freight transportation.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to trucking and freight transport.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Ottawa, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
- Moffat Truck : 3 years (preferred)
- securing flatbed loads: 3 years (preferred)
