Role Description
The Assistant to the President is a full-time, on-site role based in Markham, ON. This position supports the President in daily operations, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings and work between sectors, preparing agendas, and maintaining organized records of activities and initiatives. The role involves assisting with the planning and execution of events, business forums, and member engagements. The Assistant to the President will help facilitate communication between the President, members, partners, and internal teams, and may participate in business discussions and follow up on action items. Additional responsibilities include handling administrative tasks, supporting strategic projects, and ensuring the President is well-prepared for meetings, negotiations, and public appearances.
Qualifications
Candidates should ideally hold a MBA or master in Management or a related field, or have equivalent relevant experience.
Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and the ability to engage professionally with diverse stakeholders.
Candidates should possess solid Administration skills, including scheduling, document management, meeting coordination, and general office support.
Candidates should possess Business Negotiation and Negotiation skills, with the ability to support or participate in discussions with partners, members, and vendors.
Candidates should possess Strategic Planning skills, with the ability to assist in organizing initiatives, tracking progress, and supporting long-term organizational goals.
Candidates should ideally have strong organizational and time-management abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates should ideally have proficiency with standard office software and collaboration tools, and experience in business, non-profit, or chamber-of-commerce environments is an asset.
