Seeking a qualified and compassionate PART-TIME /WEEKEND SHIFT Personal Support Worker and FULL TIME CONTRACT for 1 MONTH Personal Support Worker to provide private care for an elderly patient in a long-term care home in Hamilton who is stricken with Alzheimer’s disease.
Hours:
Shift 1 – Permanent Part Time Weekend Shift –
Hours: Saturday & Sunday 9am-5pm or 1pn-9pm
Shift 2 – Full Time (1 Month Contract)
Hours: Monday - Friday 9am-5pm or 1pm-9pm
Requirements:
- Must follow a care plan
- Provide physical care by assisting in daily exercise to prevent muscle deterioration
- Provide personal care such as shaving and feeding as required
- Provide some mental stimulation by either reading or engaging in conversation
- Keep the patient comfortable and provide company
- Must be able to assist a wheelchair bound patient with standing and walking
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2-3 years as a Personal Support Worker
- Experience working with the elderly is required
- Knowledge of Alzheimer disease is preferred; experience is an asset
- Gentle Persuasion Courses considered an asset
