Established in 1969, the Western Joint Electrical Training Society (WJETS) trains the electrical specialists employed by signatory contractors of IBEW Local Unions 230, 993, and 1003 across Vancouver Island, the Kootenays, Northern BC, and Yukon. Our mission is to provide continuing education and training that supports the most qualified and skilled workforce in British Columbia’s electrical industry.
Reporting to the Senior Program Coordinator and WJETS’ Executive Director, the Program Associate provides administrative, operational, and project support for WJETS’ pre-employment and upgrade training programs. This role supports program delivery, participant follow-up, project tracking, reporting, stakeholder communication, and day-to-day coordination with staff, faculty, participants, union representatives, employers, and jobsite contacts. The ideal candidate is adaptable, highly organized, quick to learn new systems and processes, and confident using business software to manage information accurately and efficiently. Workload may fluctuate with program delivery and reporting cycles, and occasional evening follow-up with apprentices by phone, text, or email may be required. Although the position may be performed remotely approximately 80% of the time, the successful applicant will be a current resident of Greater Victoria, British Columbia.
