Ophthalmic Clinical AssistantOverview
We are seeking an energetic, friendly and dependable Ophthalmic Clinical Assistant to join our busy ophthalmology clinic.
The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong written communication skills, confidence using computers and a fast, accurate typing speed. Our clinic operates in a fast-paced environment, and the successful candidate must be adaptable, organized and willing to support the changing needs of the clinic and team.
A minimum of two years of previous experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting is required.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Performing the initial clinical workup of patients
- Checking and documenting visual acuity
- Obtaining patient histories and entering information accurately into the electronic medical record
- Performing diagnostic testing, including autorefraction, non-contact tonometry and visual field testing
- Maintaining complete and confidential patient records
- Assisting with administrative and clinic-flow duties as required
- Preparing, cleaning and organizing examination rooms and clinical work areas
- Communicating professionally and compassionately with patients, physicians and other team members
Training will be provided for clinic-specific processes and equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Position Details
Hours: 28–40 hours per week
Compensation: $22–$27 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
