Rug Cleaning Technician — $22–$24/hour Gross
Unstained Cleaning Services is hiring a reliable and detail-oriented Rug Cleaning Technician to join our team in Toronto and the GTA.
This role is focused on professional area rug cleaning, rug washing, drying, inspection, and related cleaning operations. The right candidate should be careful, physically capable, organized, and willing to follow a structured cleaning process. This is not only a “cleaning” role; it requires attention to detail, patience, and care when handling customer rugs.
Pay and Employment Details
Pay: $22.00–$24.00 CAD per hour, gross, based on experience and ability
Employment type: Hourly employee
Payroll: Bi-weekly payroll, generally paid on Wednesdays
Payment method: E-transfer initially
Location: Toronto / GTA job sites and company rug cleaning facility
Schedule: Daytime work, with occasional extended hours when needed
Start date: As soon as possible for the right candidate
This is a payroll employee position. Standard deductions such as CPP, EI, income tax, and other applicable deductions will apply. A paystub will be provided for each pay period.
Responsibilities
- Perform professional area rug cleaning and rug washing services
- Inspect rugs for stains, odours, damage, colour bleeding risk, fibre type, and pre-existing issues
- Dust, vacuum, pre-treat, wash, rinse, extract, and prepare rugs for drying
- Assist with rug drying, grooming, wrapping, and storage
- Help maintain the rug cleaning area, drying room, equipment, and supplies
- Use cleaning tools, chemicals, and equipment safely and properly
- Follow company checklists, procedures, and quality standards
- Handle customer rugs carefully and protect them from damage
- Report damage, dye bleeding, odour issues, equipment problems, or unusual situations immediately
- Assist with pickup/delivery preparation when required
- Support carpet, upholstery, mattress cleaning, or other cleaning operations when rug volume is low
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to follow procedures and cleaning standards
- Comfortable working in a rug cleaning facility and at client locations when needed
- Able to perform physical work, including bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying, rolling, and moving rugs
- Able to work independently after proper instruction
- Professional attitude and respectful communication
- Available to work in Toronto and the GTA
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous rug cleaning, carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, restoration, detailing, or cleaning experience
- Experience working with cleaning chemicals, extractors, rotary machines, wet/dry vacuums, or similar equipment
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation to meet at designated work locations
- Experience working with customer-owned items
- Long-term availability
- Interest in growing into a lead technician role

Safety and Handling
Some rugs can be heavy, wet, delicate, or difficult to move. The employee must use safe lifting practices and must not attempt unsafe lifting alone. Assistance, proper technique, or equipment must be used when needed.
Important Notes
- The employee will be placed on payroll.
- Standard deductions such as CPP, EI, income tax, and other applicable deductions will apply.
- A paystub will be provided for each pay period.
- Smoking is not permitted during breaks when the client is home or present at the client location.
- Personal phone use is not permitted during paid working time except for emergencies or work-related communication.
- Paid time, breaks, travel time, and payroll will follow company policy and Ontario employment standards.
