In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for the payroll function and follows established procedures in the preparation and processing of employee data for payroll production, and the updating of employee data files and benefit accumulation within a computerized system. Responds to inquiries from staff regarding salary, benefits and deductions, payroll related policies and procedures, and makes corrections, adjustments or payments as required. Produces and distributes output such as employee pay statements, pay cheques, and third party and government related correspondence.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days (rotating)
- Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized payroll course, and three years recent, related experience in a large, computerized payroll environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to keyboard at 45 wpm.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
