Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Registered or Provisional Psychologist to join our team. This role involves providing psychological assessments, therapy, and support to children and adolescents. The ideal candidate will have an interest in how trauma impacts the body and family systems and how it is through the body we can heal, possess strong clinical skills, experience working with children, and a commitment to patient care. This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient well-being within a collaborative medical environment. Candidate can make their own schedule to support work life balance.
Provisional Psychologists will need external supervision with a supervisor that specializes in somatic trauma therapy for children.
Duties
- Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments for children and adolescents.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to patients experiencing mental health challenges.
- Collaborate with medical teams to integrate psychological care into overall patient treatment plans.
- Collect and analyze data related to patient progress, treatment outcomes, and research initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Assist in research projects aimed at improving clinical practices and patient outcomes.
- Support patients with special education needs by adapting therapeutic approaches accordingly.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate comprehensive care.
Qualifications
- Master's in Counselling or Counselling Psychology
- Current registration as a Psychologist or provisional registration with CAP.
- Is in good standing with CAP.
- Experience working with children, including familiarity with pediatric psychological assessments and interventions.
- Willing to complete the foundational course of the SMART (sensory motor arousal regulation treatment) therapy training for children before end of year and engage in ongoing consultation.
- Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward diverse populations.
- Familiarity with special education practices and supporting individuals with learning differences is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Pay: $117.50-$141.00 per hour
