The Department of Facilities Management is seeking applicants for two (2) full-time permanent Service Worker positions. Under the direct supervision of the Cleaning Foreman, Service Workers perform cleaning, care, and maintenance duties for buildings and related facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cleaning and housekeeping of various buildings
Moving heavy furniture and equipment
Stripping, waxing & spray buffing floors
Vacuuming & shampooing carpets
Cleaning & disinfecting washrooms
Operating industrial cleaning equipment, and sanitary supplies
Removing snow and debris from around entrances
Reporting damages to supervisor
Pick up and remove waste
Other tasks may be required from time to time to improve the condition and appearance of the University
Clean in areas with medical/surgical supplies and materials
Any other such duties indicated by the supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of one year cleaning experience
Strong people skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of team
Experience in the operation of industrial type cleaning equipment would be considered an asset
Capable of doing repetitive physical work, working hands on with a high attention to detail
Good communication skills
WHMIS training certified (training can be supplied)
May be required to obtain Federal Government security clearance
