We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Class 1 Truck Driver to join our team and drive excellence in freight transportation. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight over long or short distances while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and other critical systems to ensure optimal operation
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo
- Maintain accurate documentation for each trip, including delivery logs, freight manifests, and inspection reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate schedules and resolve any logistical issues promptly
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep trucks in top condition
- Operate heavy equipment safely when required for loading or unloading freight
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving and freight transportation
- Proficiency in forklift operation and handling freight using various loading equipment
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and basic automotive repair skills
- Ability to perform thorough vehicle inspections and identify maintenance needs
- Strong communication skills with a proactive approach to safety and customer service
- Physical ability to load, unload, lift heavy items, and work in various weather conditions
