Alberta Safety & Environmental Services (ASE Services) is a growing environmental consulting company looking for an experienced Full Cycle Bookkeeper to join our team.
The right person will be highly experienced with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Payroll, exceptionally organized and accurate, and comfortable managing deadlines independently. Just as importantly, you will be professional, positive, discreet and someone who contributes to a collaborative, drama-free workplace. Please note that our business is in the midst of upgrading our operational systems, so the perfect hire will need to be flexible and able to learn and adapt to new software.

ASE Services is an environmental health, safety, and industrial hygiene consulting company specializing in hazardous materials assessments, air monitoring, and worker safety, headquartered in Calgary with offices in Edmonton and Lethbridge.

- Air monitoring and clearance testing
- Indoor air quality assessments
- Industrial hygiene services

Our projects range from schools and hospitals to commercial buildings, oil and gas facilities, and major infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
- Full cycle bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online
- Accounts payable and vendor management
- Customer invoicing, accounts receivable and collections
- Processing QuickBooks Payroll
- Payroll remittances and payroll administration
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Employee expense processing
- GST preparation and filing
- Month-end reconciliations and journal entries
- Maintaining accurate general ledger accounts
- Preparing monthly financial information for management
- Preparing year-end information for our external accountant
- Maintaining organized financial records and documentation
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies or unusual transactions
- Helping improve and document our accounting processes and controls
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on full cycle bookkeeping experience
- Strong QuickBooks Online experience is required
- Strong QuickBooks Payroll experience is required
- Solid knowledge of Canadian payroll, GST and bookkeeping practices
- Experience with Dext is an asset
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage recurring deadlines
- Comfortable learning new software and systems
- Strong problem-solving skills — you notice when something doesn't look right and investigate it
- High degree of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Competitive salary

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
