Yard Operator
Position: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Varying (Monday-Friday, occasional Weekends), must be able to work alone at times.
Day to day tasks include:
· Preparing warehouse orders.
· Blending raw materials into large batches
· Packaging product.
· Load and unload trucks and rail cars.
· Perform preventive and routine maintenance.
· General plant housekeeping.
· Monitoring storage tank inventories and blend stock to replenish as needed.
· Conduct daily plant inspections.
· Other duties as assigned.
· QC incoming and outgoing products.
· Maintaining equipment as needed.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions including winter conditions.
- Fast paced, demanding.
- Labour intensive must be able to lift/carry 50lbs
Skills & Attributes desired:
· Comfortable operating piping manifolds, pumps and transferring product to storage tanks
· Forklift certification is an asset
· Compound blending experience is an asset
· Strong mechanical aptitude/ General Maintenance skills
· Able to work independently with minimum supervision
· This is a safety orientated position; Safety awareness is extremely important.
· Must hold a valid driver’s license
· Must be fluent in English.
