Providing assessment and treatment for clients with various injuries (musculo-skeletal, orthopaedic, psychological impairments, chronic pain, spinal cord injury, amputation, traumatic brain injury, and poly-trauma) and functional challenges resulting from auto collisions. This position involves providing community-based OT services in the Kitchener-Waterloo region, including conducting home assessments, attendant care assessments, medico-legal assessments, hospital discharge planning, and providing treatment to address cognitive, physical, and psychosocial barriers to functional participation. Treatment may include liaising with allied health professionals, stakeholders, and various community resources as well as supervising support personnel and submitting treatment plans and Form 1s through HCAI. Occupational therapists are expected to provide services in accordance with the Standards of Practice of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
Job Outline:
· Independent Contractor, permanent part-time or full-time
· Monday to Friday; no weekends, flexible autonomous schedule
· Majority in-person services, with some virtual session options based on client need
· Working from home office with access to own computer
Qualifications:
· Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
· Registered in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
· Proof of valid practice insurance
· Fully licensed with a G2 or G class Ontario driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle and insurance
· 3+ years of experience in OT
· Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
Salary:
· $55.00/hr. to $80.00/hr.
· Rate commensurate with experience
