Dishwasher / Prep Cook – The Blackstone (Stittsville, ON)
Full-Time & Part-Time Positions Available
The Blackstone is building a strong, reliable team for our new community hub in Stittsville. We’re looking for motivated Dishwasher / Prep Cooks to help support our kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness standards while assisting with food preparation. This is an excellent role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in organization and cleanliness, and wants opportunities to grow within a dynamic food service operation.
Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, kitchen equipment, and food preparation tools using commercial dishwashing equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, dishwashing area, and storage areas
- Assist with food preparation tasks including chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, preparing sauces, and assembling basic menu items
- Prepare ingredients for café, dessert, and kitchen operations according to recipes and food safety standards
- Restock kitchen supplies, ingredients, containers, and packaging materials
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing deliveries
- Remove garbage, recycling, and compost while maintaining cleanliness throughout kitchen areas
- Support cooks and kitchen staff during busy service periods
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties as scheduled
Requirements
- Previous dishwasher, prep cook, or kitchen experience is an asset (but full training is available)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and preparation procedures accurately
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- Able to lift 20–40 lbs for stocking and kitchen operations
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn multiple kitchen stations
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
