Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in automotive repair, particularly with diesel engines. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The Diesel Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our fleet while providing exceptional customer service.
Duties
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in diesel engines and related systems.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections.
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to execute repairs accurately.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Operate forklifts and other machinery as needed for repairs and maintenance.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in automotive repair, particularly with diesel engines.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to work on farm machinery is a plus.
- Familiarity with power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy objects as required for repairs (heavy lifting).
- Experience working in a dealership environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for effective troubleshooting.
- Certification or relevant training in diesel mechanics is advantageous.
