Position: Independent Contractor Mobile Swim Instructor
Location: Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster, North/West Van, Surrey (looking for 1 instructor to teach 2-3 neighbouring cities).
Note: We also have a location in Burnaby (9304 Salish Court) and are looking for someone to teach group lessons on Tuesdays 4-9pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays 7pm-9pm starting August 1 onwards.
Type: Part-time, contractual, flexible hours

Pay: $40.00-$50 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 12 per week
Responsibilities:
- Travel to various apartments and backyard pools to conduct mobile swim lessons (or wherever you are hired)
- Provide effective instruction under the Lifesaving Society “Swim for Life” program with a few “Coastal Waves” twists
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to the needs of each student
- Teach proper swimming techniques, including strokes, breathing, and floating
- Facilitate a fun and safe learning environment for students.
- Build rapport with students and their families, fostering a love for swimming that lasts a lifetime.
- Maintain accurate records of the students’ progress to write detailed progress cards at the end of the swim term.
Requirements:
- +5 years experience as a swim instructor preferred
- Lifesaving Society Certified with a passion for teaching all ages and abilities.
- Personal vehicle
- CPR and First Aid certification (optional).
- Available weekday afternoons and weekends preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
- Experience teaching beginner adult lessons
- BONUS: Social media content creation experience
