Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Montreal engineering team, drive project execution, and ensure alignment between engineering, production, and business strategy.
This role combines technical leadership, team management, and operational execution in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Execution
Lead and manage engineering resources (internal & external) to deliver projects on schedule and within budgetMonitor project performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actionsEnsure high-quality engineering outputs through technical guidance and best practicesSupport design reviews, certification activities, and technical decision-making
Team Management & Development
Build and develop engineering capabilities across disciplines. Mentor engineers and ensure alignment with technical standards and company expectations. Manage workload, priorities, and performance of the engineering team
Project & Cross-functional Coordination
Collaborate with production, quality, supply chain, and commercial teams. Support customer technical reviews and provide engineering solutions. Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) and R&D initiatives.
Operational & Strategic Impact: Oversee engineering budget (R&D, labor, indirect costs) for Montreal. Support standardization of processes and tools across DART sites (“DART way”)Partner with VP Engineering on department vision and long-term strategy
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering. 10+ years in aerospace engineering (design, development, certification)3–5+ years in a leadership or team management role. Strong experience in CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and engineering documentation. Experience with certification standards (FAA / EASA / TCCA), Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a production-driven environment
Technical Competencies
Design, analysis, and product development (mechanical systems). Understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial constraints. Experience with design reviews, compliance documentation, and testing
