About the Role
We are seeking compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our team in a casual/on-call capacity with experience on palliative care within a long-term facility setting. This role is ideal for nurses who are passionate about delivering person-centered care that promotes comfort, dignity, and quality of life for residents and their families during advanced illness and end-of-life journeys.
As an LPN, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide clinical nursing care, symptom management, emotional support, and advocacy while ensuring residents receive the highest standard of compassionate care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate palliative nursing care
- Monitor patient condition and manage symptoms
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Support patients and families with education and emotional care
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication with healthcare teams
- Respond to on-call or short-notice scheduling needs
Qualifications:
- Active LPN license in Alberta
- CPR/BLS certification
- Palliative or hospice care experience preferred
- Charting softwares for documentation (ex. POC)
- Strong communication and clinical assessment skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Schedule:
- On-call / casual shifts
- Flexible availability preferred
Pay: $33.00-$35.00 per hour
