KnChicken is a popular Korean Fried Chicken & Tteokbokki restaurant located on Canada Way in Burnaby. We primarily focus on Take-out and Delivery, with a cozy dine-in area (3 tables). We pride ourselves on maintaining an exceptionally clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment.

Main Line Cook (Tteokbokki & Kitchen Lead) - Korean Restaurant
Kitchen Structure & Your Role
Our compact kitchen operates on an efficient 2-person team structure:
- Person 1 (Chicken Fryer & Utility): Focuses on frying main chicken, dishwashing, prep support, and general kitchen cleanup.
- Person 2 (THIS ROLE - Main Line Cook): Takes charge of main cooking (Tteokbokki & Jjimdak), side fryers, fryer equipment management (turning fryers on/off, oil filtration), and maintaining sanitation in the main cook station.
Because of high demand, we experience 1–2 intense peak rushes per shift. We are looking for an experienced Line Cook / Kitchen Lead who can handle the main cooking line smoothly while upholding our high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Main Cooking: Cook all Korean Tteokbokki dishes (Original, Jjajang, Carbonara, Rosé, Buldak Cream, Basil Cream, etc.) and Jjimdak (Korean Braised Chicken).
- Side Station & Chicken Support: Fry all side dishes at the side fryer station and pull out main fried chicken when the timer rings.
- Fryer & Station Maintenance: Turn on fryers at opening, manage overall fryer operations, drain/filter/clean fryers during closing shifts, and clean/sanitize your station ("Clean as you go").
- Line & Ticket Management: Efficiently prioritize incoming tickets during peak rush hours and guide the 2-person kitchen flow.
- Prep & Inventory Support: Perform daily prep duties (chicken brining/marinating, sauce prep, pickled radish, cutting vegetables) and order raw chicken inventory at closing for next day operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Availability: MUST be available to work weekends (Saturday & Sunday mandatory).
- Experience: Minimum 2 to 3+ years of kitchen / line cook experience.
- Multitasking Ability: Strong ability to handle Tteokbokki cooking, side fryers, chicken timers, and ticket prioritization simultaneously during peak rushes.
- High Standards of Cleanliness: Dedicated to keeping a clean, tidy, and hygienic working station at all times.
- Reliability: Looking for long-term employment with strong punctuality and work ethic.
