Job Title: Local AZ Driver — Night Shift
Location: Milton, ON (Terminal-based, operating within 160 km radius)
Job Type: Full-Time / Temp
Shift: Overnight, approximately 10:00 PM start, 10-hour shifts, Tuesday to Saturday.
About the Role
Better Together Group is hiring an experienced Local AZ Driver for a terminal-based position in Milton. This is a local route — no long-haul, no cross-border. You'll be operating within a 160 km radius of the Milton terminal, so you're home every day.
This is an overnight position with a typical start time around 10:00 PM and 10-hour shifts, Tuesday to Saturday. If you're a driver who prefers steady local routes, predictable hours, and working for a company that treats its people well, this is the role for you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operating AZ-class commercial vehicles on local routes within 160 km of the Milton terminal
- Conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance
- Managing delivery documentation, including bills of lading and proof of delivery
- Communicating with dispatch regarding route status, delays, or any issues
- Maintaining accurate hours-of-service records via electronic logs
- Providing professional, courteous service at every delivery point
- Adhering to all MTO regulations, company safety policies, and site-specific rules at client locations
What We're Looking For
- Valid AZ driver's license with a clean driving record
- Minimum 5 years of verifiable commercial driving experience (local or long-haul acceptable; local experience preferred)
- Clean CVOR and Driver's Abstract
- Strong knowledge of Ontario traffic laws, MTO regulations, and hours-of-service rules
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working overnight shifts independently
- Experience with pre-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance awareness
- WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Pay
We pay based on verifiable experience — you're rewarded for the years you've put in behind the wheel:
- 5 to 7 years of verifiable AZ experience: $23.00 per hour
- 15 to 19 years of verifiable AZ experience: $25.50 per hour
(Candidates falling between these bands will be evaluated individually.)
