Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting patients with their eyewear needs, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring the accurate fitting of glasses and contact lenses. The Optician will play a crucial role in enhancing the overall patient experience while maintaining the highest standards of optical care.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in selecting eyewear that meets their needs and preferences.
- Conduct fittings for glasses and contact lenses, ensuring proper measurements and adjustments.
- Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage inventory of optical products.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and optometrists to ensure seamless patient care.
- Handle sales transactions and manage retail operations efficiently.
- Stay updated on the latest optical trends, technologies, and medical terminology.
- Assist in laboratory tasks as needed, including lens edging and repairs.
Skills
- Strong background in retail management and sales, particularly in an optical setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye care.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Proficiency in retail sales techniques to drive customer satisfaction and sales performance.
- Knowledge of optical products, including lenses, frames, and contact lenses.
- Experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic is advantageous.
