About the role
You will own aircraft-level system architecture for interior and cabin systems on a next-generation autonomous eVTOL program, from concept definition through to entry into service. This is a lifecycle systems engineering role, not a detailed design or drafting role. You will define the architecture, allocate and manage requirements, drive the safety assessment process, and carry your system through integration, verification and certification.
What you will do
- Own complete system architecture from concept definition through to entry into service, including concept of operations, functional decomposition and architecture trade studies
- Define, allocate and manage system and sub-system requirements, and maintain traceability from aircraft-level function down to component
- Lead the safety assessment process for your systems: FHA, PSSA and SSA, with development assurance level assignment
- Build and maintain system models in an MBSE environment, and use those models to drive requirements, interfaces and analysis
- Own interface definition and control with adjacent systems, structures and suppliers
- Plan and execute verification and validation, from analysis and bench testing through to aircraft-level ground and flight test support
- Support certification, including compliance planning and substantiation packages
- Work as the technical point of contact across the integrated product team and with suppliers
Required experience
- Degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical or systems engineering
- Demonstrated ownership of a complete system architecture across the full development lifecycle, from concept definition through entry into service. Candidates whose experience is concentrated in a single sub-component (for example wiring harnesses, electrical installation drawings, or simulator panels) will not be a fit for this role
- Hands-on application of ARP4754 / ARP4754A for aircraft and systems development, with specific deliverables you personally produced
- Hands-on application of ARP4761 for safety assessment, including FHA, PSSA and SSA
- Demonstrated use of Model-Based Systems Engineering tools and methodology. Name the tool and the model you owned, for example Cameo Systems Modeler / MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, Capella, or SysML, alongside requirements management in DOORS or equivalent
- Experience taking a system through certification with a civil airworthiness authority
Nice to have
- Interiors and cabin systems domain experience: cabin monuments, seating, furnishings, environmental control, cabin electronics, occupant safety
- Familiarity with DO-160 and DO-178C as inputs to system-level work
- eVTOL, UAM, or novel category aircraft certification experience
- Working French and English (Quebec-based role)
Pay: $60.00-$75.00 per hour
