Job Description
Fountainhead Mechanical is growing, and we are looking for motivated Apprentice Service Plumbers to join our commercial plumbing service team in Calgary.
We welcome applications from registered first, second, third, and fourth-year plumbing apprentices. This is a service-based position focused on diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing existing commercial plumbing and hydronic systems.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your service and diagnostic skills while working alongside experienced journeyperson plumbers and mechanical service technicians.
The successful candidate will assist with the diagnosis, service, repair, installation, and maintenance of commercial plumbing and hydronic systems. As your skills develop, you will take on increasingly advanced work with the guidance and support of qualified journeypersons.
Experienced apprentices who demonstrate strong technical ability, reliability, and commercial service experience may earn up to $46.50 per hour.

What You Will Do
Your responsibilities will grow based on your apprenticeship level, experience, and demonstrated ability.
- Assist with commercial plumbing service, maintenance, and repair
- Diagnose plumbing problems under the direction of a qualified journeyperson
- Repair and replace piping, valves, fixtures, pumps, and related components
- Assist with hydronic heating system service and repairs
- Assist with commercial boiler maintenance and related plumbing work
- Complete preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Install and modify commercial plumbing and piping systems
- Respond professionally to customer service requests
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and equipment documentation
- Identify system issues and communicate findings to the supervising journeyperson
- Complete accurate service documentation and digital reports
- Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and an organized work area
- Communicate professionally with customers, office staff, and teammates
- Follow applicable codes, safety requirements, and company procedures
- Represent Fountainhead Mechanical's culture and values on every customer site
Who We Are Looking For
- Registered first, second, third, or fourth-year Alberta plumbing apprentice
- Interest in building a career in commercial plumbing service
- Previous commercial plumbing service, maintenance, or mechanical experience is considered an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Willingness to learn plumbing diagnostics and service procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and apply feedback
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dependable attendance
- Professional communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to work safely, independently, and as part of a team
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the plumbing trade
- Valid driver's licence and a clean, insurable driving record
- Ability to reliably commute to Calgary or relocate before starting work
