Berwick Retirement is looking for Dining Room Servers at our dynamic and innovative Berwick Parksville. Schedule:
4:00pm - 7:30pm Monday - Friday for a total of 14 hours per week. This right candidate may have the opportunity for a supervisory role.
Pay:
Starting wage is $22.00 per hour.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Hospitality Manager, the Food Service Worker plays an important role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for our residents and guests. This includes taking orders, serving meals, and providing friendly, attentive service in line with our standards.
This role also supports meal setup and preparation across a variety of service areas, as well as general clean-up. From time to time, you may assist with tray service, private dining, and special events.
Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in the food services industry and working with seniors.
- Demonstrates an understanding of excellent customer service skills.
- Serving It Right Certification
- Food Safe Certification– Must complete within 90 days of hire if not already completed.
- WHIMIS and Valid First Aid Certificate are an asset.
- Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift.
- Non-slip shoes are required
Note: At Berwick we understand the importance of immunization to protect our residents, team members and visitors from COVID-19. As such, a prerequisite of employment is that all new hires are vaccinated as approved by Health Canada. A current TB test and criminal record check are also required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable adults.
