Since 1985, Ottawa Classic Stairs & Bannisters has established itself as one of the premier custom stair and railing manufacturers. With thousands of staircases built for new homes as well as custom builds and renovations, the company is well known for its high-quality products and reliable service.
We are currently looking for individuals with relevant carpentry skills to join our stair building team. The ideal candidate for this position has good knowledge of wood other building materials. Great hand dexterity and an eye for detail is a plus. We will train individuals with basic skills looking to develop their craft. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Group Benefit plan eligibility after 3 months. Above average performance-based remuneration.
Ideal skills and qualifications:
- Have well developed carpentry skills/ attention to detail.
- Must be able to accurately measure, cut and assemble a variety of stair materials.
- Experience using multiple types of woodworking equipment and machinery.
- Ability to solve problems.
- Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential.
- Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work under pressure in a shop work environment.
Your day-to-day operations:
- measurements and calculate material if needed.
- Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material according to measurements.
- Read sketches and assemble staircases.
- Safely operate equipment to build custom staircases.
- Inspect work area and report necessary repairs or maintenance.

Pay: $41,500.00-$75,000.00 per year
