This seasonal leadership role runs from March/April through October or November.
As a Landscape Maintenance Foreman, you’ll lead a dedicated crew while working closely with the Maintenance Field Manager. You’ll be hands-on in the field, guiding your team, ensuring quality work, and helping bring divisional goals to life — all while enjoying the outdoors.
What will you do around here?

Plan, schedule, and delegate daily work to keep jobs on track

Lead, coach, and support your crew’s performance and development

Troubleshoot challenges, manage incidents, and support conflict resolution

Inspect, maintain, and perform minor repairs on equipment

Operate a truck and trailer safely and professionally

Represent Team Horizon with professionalism and excellent customer service

Champion safety through toolbox talks and proper PPE use

Complete daily and weekly paperwork including inspections, reports, and timecards

Education & Certifications

Secondary school completion (asset); horticulture education (asset)

Industry certifications (Red Seal, CLT, Pesticide Applicator) an asset

Safety certifications (OFA Level 1, Fall Protection) an asset

Valid Class 5 driver’s license (required)
Experience & Skills
-
2+ years in landscaping or equivalent education
-
Experience leading or supervising a crew
-
Comfortable with physically demanding outdoor work

Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills

Experience operating landscape equipment
-
Basic mechanical and plant knowledge
-
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Physical Requirements
This is a 100% labour-based role requiring lifting 50+ lbs and repetitive bending, crouching, twisting, and standing or walking for extended periods.
Work Environment
Your office is outdoors — rain or shine. Shifts are 4 x 10-hour days, giving you a 3-day weekend. Dress for the weather and embrace the elements.
This role runs spring through October or November.
