We are seeking a motivated and driven student to join us as a Human Resources (HR) Assistant to support our team at the Glencoe. As the HR Assistant you are curious, inquisitive, and passionate about people and culture within an organization, demonstrating a willingness to learn, grow, and develop. You will provide administrative and technical support in all areas of human resources including involvement in day-to-day, strategy, projects, and other initiatives that enhance and continuously improve the employee experience. You will contribute to programs and processes designed to aid the Glencoe in meeting and exceeding member expectations while championing an inclusive, respectful environment built on solid, foundational human resources practices enabling an engaged and connected workforce.
Responsibilities:
- Support the creation and enhancement of human resources processes, practices, and policies
- Ensure quality, integrity, maintenance, and disposition of all data through leveraging technology to refine, facilitate, and champion appropriate/repeatable processes and protocols
- Assist in administering regular and seasonal recruitment processes
- Guide and provide assistance to employees and people leaders with HR best practices and recommendations
- Foster and contribute to a culture that builds exceptional employee experiences
- Participate and contribute to people based continuous improvement projects
- Create, monitor and support reporting, analytics, and trend analysis through leveraging the HRIS system
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in an Undergraduate degree or diploma in Human Resource Management or a relevant field
- Demonstrated focus on customer service, inclusive of critical and creative thinking
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Employment Standards, Canadian Human Rights Act, and applicable legislation
- Previous experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving ability

Please note that this position is partially funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program. To be considered eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
· Be aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job
· Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
· Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
· International students and other temporary residents of Canada are not eligible
This is a seasonal full time position that reports to the Director of People & Culture and is located on-site. The successful candidate will require reliable transportation between both clubs and may be required to work a variety of shifts on occasion including weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays based on the nature of the business.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check as well as Respect in the Workplace certification prior to commencing employment.
