Senior Computer Application Support, Google Cloud - Contract - 19401
About the Opportunity
Our public sector client has a requirement for a Senior Computer Application Support Specialist to support the ongoing governance, sustainment and modernization of an enterprise Google Cloud platform.
This is a senior cloud platform role focused on architecture, governance, security, compliance, operational readiness and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will work with technical, security and operational stakeholders to strengthen the existing Google Cloud environment and support its continued adoption.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Review and maintain Google Cloud platform governance, operational status, risks, dependencies and sustainment requirements
Assess existing cloud capabilities and identify gaps in processes, documentation, controls and support models
Support security authorization and compliance activities, including control evidence, remediation planning, security posture reporting and Authority to Operate requirements
Review cloud security monitoring, audit logging, threat detection, vulnerability management and compliance reporting practices
Review network architecture and connectivity, including hybrid networking, DNS, routing, shared services, firewalls and cloud perimeter protection
Assess identity and access management practices, including IAM, PAM, role based access controls, privileged access and least privilege principles
Support application onboarding, operational readiness, issue management and ongoing platform sustainment
Maintain technical procedures, operational documentation, architecture summaries, onboarding materials and knowledge transfer documentation
Develop dashboards, metrics and reporting related to platform health, cloud spend, security posture, compliance, risks and operational dependencies
Assess emerging Google Cloud capabilities, including AI/ML, GPU enabled workloads, containerized services and other cloud modernization opportunities
Identify operational gaps, recurring issues and opportunities to improve the overall Google Cloud platform and support model
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
A minimum of five years of experience within the last seven years providing senior level computer application support, cloud platform support or cloud operations support
A minimum of two years of experience within the last five years supporting Google Cloud services, platforms or projects within a large public sector organization of at least 5,000 employees
Demonstrated experience in at least four of the following areas:
Google Cloud landing zones, enterprise cloud foundations, platform sustainment or secure cloud configuration
Security authorization, compliance, control evidence, remediation planning or Authority to Operate support
Infrastructure as code, automated deployment, configuration management or controlled cloud deployment
Operational documentation, technical procedures, architecture documentation, handover materials or knowledge transfer
Identity and access governance, hybrid networking, DNS, firewall modernization, security monitoring, logging, SIEM integration or operational dashboards
Governance reporting, risk tracking, cloud spend reporting, platform modernization, containerized services, AI/ML, GPU enabled workloads or restricted cloud environments
A minimum of two of the following Google Cloud certifications:
Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect
Google Cloud Certified Professional Machine Learning Engineer
Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Network Engineer
Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Security Engineer
Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer
Google Cloud Certified Associate Cloud Engineer
Advanced English language skills, including oral communication, comprehension and written communication
A valid Government of Canada Secret security clearance
Ability to provide copies of required professional certifications
