Job Summary
Genesis Metalworks is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating TRUMPF press brake equipment and a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes.
This role is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating press brake machines to produce high-quality components. The Press Brake Operator plays a key role in ensuring production meets specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate TRUMPF press brake machines to bend and form metal components accurately
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine specifications
- Adjust machine settings based on material type and thickness
- Use measuring tools (calipers, gauges, etc.) to verify dimensions and quality
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine or production issues
- Work with team members to meet production timelines and quality standards
- Assist with inspection of finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications
General Shop Duties
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Safety
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and policies
- Wear required PPE (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, etc.)
- Report hazards, incidents, or near misses promptly
- Comply with all company and provincial regulations (OHSA – Ontario)
Qualifications
- Required: Experience operating TRUMPF press brake equipment
- Proven experience working as a press brake operator in a manufacturing environment
- Mechanical knowledge of CNC equipment (lathe and milling machines considered an asset)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Experience with measuring tools and quality inspection processes
- Familiarity with cranes, forklifts, and shop equipment
- Strong math skills for measurements and setup calculations
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment
Work Environment
- Industrial shop environment with moderate to high noise levels
- Exposure to hot materials, sharp edges, and metal debris
- Requires standing, bending, and lifting up to 75 lbs
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$29.00 per hour
