Voltz Auto Sales Incorporated dba Port Moody Collision located at 6-2822Spring Street, Port Moody, BC V3H 4C5 is looking for a skilled AutobodyMechanic to help us deliver top-notch automotive repairs andmaintenance.
This is a full-time, year-round position. The salary is $37.00 per hourworking 40 hours per week. Our ideal candidate must be able to performvehicle repairs efficiently and effectively. Your primary duties will be torepair engine, suspension, electrical, and other systems damaged in acollision. We are looking for someone who can also keep on top ofcalibrations and control systems operations required after collision repairsare completed in addition to final inspection of vehicle systems and clearingany issues prior to delivery. Additionally, you will aid the body repair teamwith removal and installation of components such as bumpers, and doors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicle systems and assist in developing repair plans, usinghand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Repair or replace damaged suspension, engine, and electricalcomponents as needed.
- Diagnose and repair wiring issues; install and program electricalcomponents following OEM specifications.
- Stay current with OEM repair procedures, required calibrations, andmanufacturer guidelines.
- Perform post-repair inspections and system checks to ensure vehiclesmeet safety and performance standards.
- Diagnose and clear engine codes and resolve any remaining issuesafter body repair work.
- Support the body repair team by removing, installing, and aligningvehicle components.
- Conduct routine maintenance services including oil changes, filterreplacements, brake repairs, and lubrication.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Road-test vehicles to verify proper operation after repairs.
- Use computerized diagnostic tools and other equipment to identifymechanical and electrical problems.
- Test, adjust, and verify repaired systems to ensure they meetmanufacturer performance requirements.
- Communicate with customers about completed repairs and advisethem on recommended future services.
- Review work orders and coordinate tasks with supervisors to ensureaccurate and efficient workflow
Requirements and Qualifications
- Completion of secondary school and training courses or a vocationalprogram
- At least two to three years experience as an automotive mechanic.
- Valid driver’s licence
- Able to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
- Full set of tools and diagnostic equipment (some equipment will beprovided by Port Moody Collision)
- Good knowledge and mechanical aptitude of many automotiveoperating systems
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment without constantsupervision
