Summary
We are seeking a Loader Operator located in Calgary to support a 2-month project. This role works 7 days per week, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Potential opportunity for staying on after the project is also available. Reporting to the Site Supervisor and Project Manager, candidates will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating front-end loaders to move, load, stockpile, and transport materials. The operator performs daily equipment inspections, adheres to safety regulations, and supports site operations to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Operate front-end loaders and related heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load trucks and stockpiles according to operational requirements.
- Transport and move materials throughout our industrial worksite.
- Perform pre-operational and post-operational equipment inspections and complete required documentation.
- Monitor equipment performance and report defects, maintenance requirements, or safety concerns promptly.
- Conduct basic preventative maintenance, including fluid checks, lubrication, and cleaning.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, equipment, and site conditions to prevent accidents.
- Maintain clean and organized work sites and equipment in compliance with safety standards.
- Participate in hazard assessments, safety meetings, incident and near-miss reporting.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a front-end loader (required).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with heavy equipment and process systems.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Able to get to and from the worksite with their own vehicle.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a safety-first mindset.
- Physically capable of performing demanding tasks in outdoor, remote work environments.
