Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to support our pharmacy team in delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will assist with medication dispensing, inventory management, and patient interactions in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in pharmacy operations while contributing to the well-being of our patients. Prior hospital or pharmacy technician experience is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed pharmacists with medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing
- Manage inventory levels, restock supplies, and ensure proper storage of medications
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and guiding patients on medication usage
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with healthcare professionals and patients
- Support medication administration processes under supervision, ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy workspace
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times
Qualifications
- Previous hospital experience or pharmacy technician certification is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Experience in patient care environments preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
- Strong communication skills and compassionate approach to patient interactions
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare-related training is a plus
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
