Evernorth Marine Group, a division of Hodder Tugboat Co. Ltd., is seeking three (3) experienced Welder/Fabricators to join our growing maintenance team at our Delta Maintenance Facility.
With a fleet of 16 tugboats, 98 barges, and 5 water taxis, Evernorth Marine Group is one of British Columbia's largest marine transportation companies, providing marine services throughout the Fraser River, Vancouver Harbour, Howe Sound, and the BC Coast.
As a Welder/Fabricator, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving our fleet by performing structural fabrication, vessel repairs, refits, and custom steel work. We are looking for individuals who take pride in producing quality workmanship, work safely, and can perform independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate, repair, and install structural steel components on tugboats, barges, and marine equipment.
- Perform repairs to hulls, decks, bulwarks, towing gear, ramps, railings, winches, and other vessel structures.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work sketches.
- Perform MIG, FCAW, and SMAW welding to a high standard.
- Carry out fit-up, layout, cutting, grinding, and fabrication of new components.
- Assist with vessel refits, major repairs, and preventative maintenance projects.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while following company safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Welder/Fabricator.
- BC Welder A Ticket or Welder B Ticket (or equivalent Red Seal certification).
- Proficient in MIG, FCAW, SMAW, and oxy-fuel cutting.
- Demonstrated experience in structural steel fabrication and heavy equipment or marine repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- CWB Welding Certification.
- Marine, shipyard, heavy industrial, or heavy equipment experience.
- Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or lifting equipment.
- Rigging and oxy-fuel cutting experience.
