Overview
We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction professional with strong expertise in earthworks and liner installation to support multiple active projects near the Cold Lake/Bonnyville region. This role will focus on road construction, pad development for pump jacks, and water retention projects involving plastic liner installation.
This position operates on a rotational schedule of 10 days on / 4 days off, averaging approximately 50 hours per week. Candidates must be comfortable working in field-based environments and traveling between multiple job sites daily.
Responsibilities
- Execute and oversee civil earthworks activities, including dirt moving, grading, and site preparation
- Support construction of roads and pump jack pads, ensuring proper compaction and material quality (e.g., compacted clay)
- Perform and/or supervise installation of plastic liners for water retention systems
- Ensure all liner work meets specified quality standards and installation requirements
- Travel between project sites (10–20 minutes apart) to monitor progress and coordinate field activities
- Work out of a central project trailer while supporting multiple concurrent projects
- Maintain adherence to project schedules, safety protocols, and quality control standards
- Collaborate with onsite teams and stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of work
Qualifications
- Proven experience in civil construction with a focus on:
- Earthworks / dirt moving
- Road construction
- Compacted clay applications
- Liner installation and quality assurance
- Strong understanding of construction standards and quality requirements for liner systems
- Ability to manage work across multiple active job sites
- Must own and operate a reliable 4x4 vehicle for site access
- Willingness to work a rotational schedule (10 days on / 4 days off) and adapt to potential shift changes during peak seasons
- Ability to work extended daily hours (10.5-hour days with scheduled breaks)
- Comfortable working in remote field environments without camp or accommodation provided
- Valid driver’s license and strong commitment to safety
