The Career Foundation is currently seeking Crossing Guards on behalf of one of our employer partners.

Responsibilities:
- Safely assist pedestrians in crossing roadways at designated school crossings.
- Coordinate pedestrian crossings with the flow of vehicular traffic.
- Exercise sound judgment to identify safe gaps in traffic for crossing purposes.
- Communicate clearly with pedestrians regarding safe crossing practices.
- Display and operate a school crossing stop sign to ensure visibility to approaching traffic.
- Report incidents, accidents, injuries, hazards, or suspicious activity to the Field Supervisor and appropriate authorities.
- Follow all established safety regulations and procedures.
- Wear required safety equipment throughout each shift.
- Remain at assigned crossing locations for the duration of scheduled shifts.
Requirements:
- Must reside within the M4, M5, or M6 postal code areas (required).
- Must have a recent Vulnerable Sector Police Check (VSS) or be willing to obtain one during the onboarding process. The cost will be reimbursed after three months of employment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong situational awareness and ability to remain alert in busy traffic environments.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and respond quickly to changing traffic conditions.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat, and cold.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Must have a cell phone with data and GPS capability.
