About the Role
We are launching a 6,000 sq.ft. Asian-style restaurant in Downtown Vancouver featuring Malatang, Yakitori, and a beverage & dessert bar.
We are looking for a Finance Manager to oversee financial operations for our new restaurant concept.
This is NOT a bookkeeping role — we need someone who can analyze numbers, control costs, and support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Prepare and manage weekly & monthly P&L reports
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and profit margins
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making
Cost Control
- Analyze food cost, labour cost, and inventory
- Identify inefficiencies and reduce waste
- Work closely with kitchen and operations teams
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Develop budgets and financial forecasts
- Track performance against targets
- Support pricing and profitability strategies
Systems & Reporting
- Reconcile POS, inventory, and accounting systems
- Ensure accurate financial reporting
- Improve financial processes and controls
Qualifications
- 5+ years in finance / accounting (restaurant industry preferred)
- Strong understanding of P&L, cost control, and margins
- Experience with POS systems and inventory tracking
- Analytical mindset with strong Excel skills
- Ability to work closely with operations team
- Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese is prefered
