About the Role
Casasanta Baking Solutions designs and builds industrial bakery equipment — ovens, proofers, conveyors, and custom systems — engineered and assembled in-house right here in Brantford. We’re looking for a mechanically skilled Building Assemblers to join our plant team.
This is a hands-on role for someone with real manufacturing experience — someone who reads blueprints, understands mechanical assembly, and takes pride in quality workmanship.

What You’ll Do
- Assemble complex mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and final builds to specification
- Read and adhere to manufacturing blueprints, technical schematics, and SOPs
- Operate equipment including drill press, tube bender, single station punch, spray foam machine, and Surfox passivator
- Follow Bill of Materials (BOM) and pick lists to stage components accurately
- Complete inventory transactions, scrap reporting, and part counts within the ERP/MRP system
- Identify and report quality non-conformances to the Lead Hand
- Participate in prototyping and new product introduction activities
- Support training of new team members as directed
- Follow all preventative maintenance protocols and lean manufacturing practices
- Comply with all Health & Safety policies and wear required PPE
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a sheet metal or mechanical manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints and technical drawings
- Hands-on experience with handheld, pneumatic, and electric tools
- Proficiency with metric and imperial measurement tools (tape measures, calipers, protractors, taps, rulers)
- Familiarity with metric and imperial hardware and assembly applications
- Solid general math skills in a manufacturing context
- High School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent experience
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team under moderate supervision
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the shift
- Ability to stand for the full duration of the shift with full range of motion
- Comfortable working in an indoor, non-air-conditioned environment
- Exposure to dust, grease, chemicals, and noise levels above 85 dB
- PPE required at all times on the plant floor
- Willingness to work overtime as required
Selection Process
Candidates may be asked to complete a skills assessment as part of the interview process. This may include a blueprint reading assessment and/or a mechanical assembly test. We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate practical, hands-on capability — not just familiarity with the work.
