Position Summary:
The Epic Ambulatory Analyst is responsible for providing operational support, ongoing maintenance, and enhancement of the Epic Ambulatory module. This role ensures that clinical workflows within outpatient and specialty departments are optimized, compliant, and efficient. The analyst partners with end users, clinical leadership, and technical teams to troubleshoot issues, manage change requests, and implement new functionalities in alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Support:
Serve as the primary contact for Epic Ambulatory-related support tickets and user requests.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application incidents within defined SLAs.
Monitor interface and integration issues (with modules like EpicCare Link, MyChart, Radiant, Cupid, or Beacon).
Provide day-to-day operational support to physicians, nurses, and clinic staff.
Coordinate with Epic Technical Services and other module teams (Prelude, Cadence, Resolute PB, etc.) for cross-functional issues.
Enhancements & Optimization:
Gather and analyze business requirements for new features, workflow improvements, and system upgrades.
Design, build, and test configuration changes within the Ambulatory module.
Participate in Epic quarterly releases, regression testing, and upgrade validation.
Optimize clinical documentation tools (SmartForms, SmartTexts, Flowsheets, Order Sets).
Implement clinical workflow enhancements to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
User Engagement & Training:
Conduct user training sessions and develop quick reference guides for end-users.
Collaborate with clinical leadership to assess enhancement requests and prioritize them.
Support new clinic go-lives, department rollouts, and system expansion initiatives.
Governance & Documentation:
Maintain change control documentation and system configuration logs.
Follow ITIL-based change management processes.
Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient data confidentiality at all times.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Epic Ambulatory Certification
Minimum 4-8 years of Epic Ambulatory or outpatient clinical support experience.
Understanding of ambulatory workflows (scheduling, documentation, ordering, results review).
Experience supporting or integrating with Epic modules such as Cadence, Prelude, Resolute PB, or MyChart.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in healthcare operations or clinical informatics.
Knowledge of EpicCare Link, SmartTools (SmartPhrases, SmartLinks), and Reporting Workbench.
Familiarity with HL7 interfaces, MyChart proxy setup, and security classes.
Experience working with enhancement projects, upgrades, or version migrations.
