Viking Masonry Inc. is a growing masonry contractor serving Southwestern Ontario, specializing in commercial, industrial, and residential masonry.
I've been in the masonry trade for over 20 years and have built Viking Masonry Inc. with a focus on quality workmanship, professionalism, and long-term relationships. As our company continues to grow, we're creating a new position for someone who can take on a key role in the day-to-day operations of the business.
We're looking for a motivated individual who enjoys variety and wants to be involved in estimating, bookkeeping, office administration, and helping manage the business behind the scenes.
Work Location
This is primarily a work-from-home position. The successful applicant will attend occasional site visits, meetings, or office visits (typically once per week or as required).
A company laptop and all required software will be provided.
Primary ResponsibilitiesEstimating
- Review drawings and tender documents
- Perform quantity take-offs
- Request supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Prepare quotations and bid submissions
- Assist in developing accurate project estimates
- Maintain estimating files and bid records
- Follow up on submitted quotations
Bookkeeping
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Payroll assistance
- Preparing invoices
- Maintaining financial records using QuickBooks or similar software
Office Administration
- Answering emails and phone calls
- Preparing purchase orders and work orders
- Organizing project documentation
- Maintaining digital filing systems
- Scheduling meetings and coordinating project paperwork
- Managing WSIB, insurance, and Health & Safety documentation
Marketing & Business Support
- Assist with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and website updates
- General office support
- Help improve office systems and day-to-day organization
Qualifications
- Experience in office administration
- Bookkeeping experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar software
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Preferred (Not Required)
- Construction estimating experience
- Blueprint reading and quantity take-offs
- Experience preparing construction tenders
- Construction administration experience
- Knowledge of masonry or general construction
- Social media experience
