About the Role
We are looking for an Automation & Controls Specialist to join our team and help deliver automation, PLC, SCADA, and control system solutions for industrial customers throughout Saskatchewan.
This opportunity is open to both junior and senior-level candidates. We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, a willingness to solve problems, and the ability to work directly with customers and project teams.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of industrial automation projects, from system design and programming through commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and ongoing customer support.
What We’re Looking For
- 5–10+ years of relevant automation and controls experience
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Preference for candidates located in Saskatchewan
- Valid driver’s license
- Availability and willingness to travel throughout Saskatchewan
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with electricians, engineers, technicians, project managers, and customers
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Professional approach when working directly with customers
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Schneider Electric software such as EcoStruxture Control Expert. Additional knowledge in platforms such as Ignition, VT SCADA, Rockwell Products such as Factory Talk, Studio 5000, and various communication protocols would be an asset.
Project Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience with a minimum of three major PLC or SCADA projects, including experience in control system design and PLC/HMI/SCADA Programming.
Customer & Project Responsibilities
You will work closely with customers and project teams to understand requirements, develop practical automation solutions, and bring projects from concept through commissioning.
Responsibilities may include:
· Developing and modifying PLC, HMI and SCADA applications
· Designing and implementing automation control systems
· Commissioning and starting up systems in the field
· Troubleshooting existing control systems
· Facility networking (WAN, LAN, VLAN, VPN)
· Working directly with customers to identify issues and develop solutions
· Supporting project estimates and technical proposals
· Participating in project planning and execution
· Providing technical documentation and system support
· Travelling to customer sites throughout Saskatchewan as required
