We are looking for a reliable and organized Shipper/Receiver & Production Worker to join our cabinet manufacturing shop.
This is a hands-on position that combines shipping and receiving duties with cabinet production work. The successful applicant will be responsible for receiving materials, assembling drawers, packing finished cabinets and preparing orders for delivery to job sites.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming materials, hardware and supplier deliveries
- Confirm quantities and report damaged or missing items
- Organize materials in the appropriate shop and storage areas
- Assemble drawer boxes and install drawer hardware
- Pack and protect finished cabinets, panels, shelves and loose parts
- Apply corner protection, foam, cardboard and stretch wrap as required
- Label cabinets and organize them by project, unit and delivery sequence
- Check packed items against production and shipping lists
- Prepare pallets and carts for delivery
- Load and unload delivery trucks
- Keep shipping, receiving and storage areas clean and organized
- Assist with cabinet assembly and other shop duties when required
Qualifications
- Reliable, punctual and organized
- Able to follow written production and shipping lists
- Comfortable using basic hand and power tools
- Able to work carefully without damaging finished cabinets
- Able to work independently and as part of a production team
- Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse or cabinet shop experience is an asset
- Forklift license
- Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand and move throughout the workday
- Able to repeatedly lift and handle items weighing approximately 50-75lbs
- Able to occasionally handle heavier or oversized items with assistance
- Comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment
