Mileage: $0.72/km for the first 5,000 km and $0.66/km thereafter

COMPANY OVERVIEW
Recovery Science Corporation (RSC) operates the GPS monitoring program for Ontario’s Ministry of the Solicitor General. The program monitors individuals who are under various forms of supervision in the community, such as bail, conditional sentences, and parole. The activities that are required to deliver these services performed include Onboarding, Alerts Management, Offboarding, and Reporting.
PURPOSE
The services provided by the Field Technician include installation, inspection, maintenance, repair, replacement, delivery and retrieval of electronic monitoring ankle bracelets and other electronic monitoring equipment. These services are performed at various locations that may include detention facilities, police stations, courthouses, private residences, and other locations in the community. Locations will be determined on a case-by-case basis depending on circumstances and in accordance with any requirements such as those in a court order. Recovery Science Corporation will provide the equipment and any specialized tools or supplies required to perform the services.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide services that include the installation, inspection, maintenance, repair, replacement, delivery and retrieval of electronic monitoring ankle bracelets and other electronic monitoring equipment as scheduled by On-Boarding/Off-Boarding Dispatch.
- Ensure services are provided following all Recovery Science Corporation technical and safety procedures, policies, and processes.
- Ensure sufficient equipment is ready for installation -e.g. beacons, bracelets, chargers- and that any equipment requiring charging is fully charged.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to:
- safely move over uneven terrain or in confined spaces;
- safely ascend and descend stairs;
- work in a crouched or squatting position for certain periods of time;
- stand for extended periods of time on surfaces such as concrete floors;
- drive safely in time efficient manner, and on occasion, for long distances; and
- lift up to 25 lbs.

- Aptitude for working with mechanical or technical equipment.
- Ability to maintain self-composure when confronted on issues by demanding and/or urgent circumstances and use professional judgment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to deal calmly and respectfully in difficult situations - people may be stressed and possibly uncooperative. Mental health can be a factor.
- Respect for others with diverse backgrounds
- Able to work independently while following all required procedures, processes, and policies
- Self-motivated and confident in your ability to learn and apply information quickly
- Must hold a valid Ontario Driver’s license, have a vehicle and vehicle insurance.
- Applicants are required to have access to a personal laptop, as some tasks and responsibilities associated with the role require its use.
- Successful applicants will be required to complete background checks following a conditional offer of employment. These checks require a minimum of five (5) years of credit history and the use of a personal credit card for identity verification.
DRIVER & INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS
As this position requires travel throughout the London area and surrounding communities, a valid Ontario Driver’s Licence, reliable vehicle, and appropriate vehicle insurance are required.
Recovery Science Corporation requires compliance with its driver and insurance requirements as a condition of performing Field Technician services. Applicants must be able to provide the required documentation and maintain compliance throughout their employment.
MILEAGE & TRAVEL
Field Technicians are reimbursed for business-related travel mileage.
Mileage reimbursement:
- $0.72/km for the first 5,000 km
- $0.66/km thereafter
Mileage is tracked using iTrack, an OBD-II device that is plugged into the Field Technician’s vehicle. The device records business travel mileage automatically, eliminating the need for manual mileage reporting.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
This is a part-time position with expected availability of Monday to Friday, 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Field Technicians can expect approximately 20–25 hours of work per week; however, hours are not guaranteed and will depend on operational requirements and scheduled field services.
