Job Overview:
Logistics & Inventory Manager reporting to the Manager of Corporate Planning owns the end-to-end logistics strategy across our three operating sites. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can think strategically about network design, transportation, and inventory positioning while also rolling up their sleeves to drive day-to-day execution, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time and at the right cost — balancing service levels, working capital, and operating expense across a multi-site footprint.
Primary Accountabilities (What do I own)
Logistics Strategy & Network Operations
- Develop and execute the company's logistics strategy across all three sites, including inbound, outbound, and inter-site transfers.
- Optimize the distribution network, including site roles, stocking strategies, and lane design, to balance cost, speed, and service.
- Manage relationships with carriers, 3PL providers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers; lead RFPs, negotiate contracts, and benchmark rates.
- Own logistics budget and freight spend (target visibility on cost-per-unit, cost-per-mile, and on-time performance).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation, trade, customs, and safety regulations.
Inventory Management & Storage
- Establish and enforce cycle counting, physical inventory, and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Define yard layout, slotting, and storage strategy at each site to maximize throughput, safety, and space utilization.
Site Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop site shipping leads and their teams, ensuring consistent processes and standards across all three locations.
- Conduct regular site visits to audit operations, support staff, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Define and track KPIs (fill rate, on-time-in-full, freight cost as % of revenue, inventory accuracy) and report performance to leadership.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
