Pleasant Valley Colony School is seeking a dedicated classroom Educational Assistant to support and assist the teacher in a multi-grade classroom encompassing Grade 1 through Grade 9 students. The ideal candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher to reinforce the skills being taught and guide students in small-group and one-on-one settings.
Assignment:
- Part-time 0.40 FTE Educational Assistant position
Duties to commence August 26, 2026 and will continue for the remainder of the 2026/2027 school year

Qualifications and/or Assets:

Experience in multi-graded classrooms

Experience in a colony school environment would be considered an asset

Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills

Ability to work with multiple students to support learning

A calm and patient approach to solving problems

Willingness to work collaboratively in a team-orientated environment

Experience and/or training as an Educational Assistant

Experience working with young English language learners would be considered an asset

Strong understanding of literacy learning

Strong work ethic and an ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to work with students of various academic abilities and behavioural needs
