Landscape construction plus winter snow work
V.I.L. Landscaping is looking for someone who works hard, learns quickly, and wants to build a real career.
You don’t need years of experience. We can teach you how to build patios, operate equipment, grade properties, install lighting, work with stone, and eventually lead a crew.
What you need to bring is reliability, effort, good judgment, and a long-term desire to improve.
This is a five-year development opportunity designed to take you from apprentice to Hardscape Foreman.
What You’ll Learn
- Patio and hardscape construction
- Excavation and base preparation
- Grading and drainage
- Concrete, cutting, and masonry
- Carpentry and outdoor structures
- Planting and horticulture
- Landscape lighting
- Truck, trailer, and equipment operation
- Snow and ice management
- Crew leadership and project planning
What You’ll Do
- Help build patios, walkways, retaining walls, and outdoor spaces.
- Move and install soil, gravel, stone, and other materials.
- Use wheelbarrows, hand tools, and power tools.
- Assist with excavation, grading, cutting, and installation.
- Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe.
- Learn to operate equipment as your experience grows.
- Help the crew reach daily production and quality goals.
- Participate in snow operations during winter.
- Take on more responsibility as you prove yourself.
You’ll Be a Good Fit If You
- Show up on time and ready to work.
- Can handle demanding outdoor work.
- Think, ask questions, and learn from mistakes.
- Accept feedback without making excuses.
- Want a career instead of another temporary job.
- Take pride in doing work properly.
- Want to become capable of leading a crew.
A valid G driver’s licence and reliable transportation are strongly preferred. Previous construction or landscaping experience is helpful but not required.
Your Five-Year Path
Year 1: Learn safety, tools, materials, and job-site fundamentals.
Year 2: Develop grading, cutting, installation, and equipment skills.
Year 3: Read plans and lead smaller parts of a project.
Year 4: Help coordinate people, materials, production, and quality.
Year 5: Become ready to run a hardscape crew.
Advancement is earned through skill, reliability, productivity, quality, and leadership—not simply time on the job.
