Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight across various routes. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for local and regional freight deliveries
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Ensure all cargo is secured properly before transit
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations
- Assist with minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and issues
Experience
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Prior experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields preferred
- Knowledge of forklift operation, heavy equipment handling, and automotive repair is a plus
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to freight handling and vehicle operation
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and vehicle maintenance
